About

“I assign a title to each of my art pieces, then sign my name, and alongside, place a small heart. One of the things I’ve always said is that “this art comes from my heart, and I hope that it speaks to your heart, because it’s personal for me, and I do it for love and for beauty. I want to bring beauty and love to the world through my art.”

Peppy’s Art Style

“I don’t want to copy photos or scenes. I want to do something that is very different, where you can’t just take a picture and copy it onto canvas. I start with a blank canvas, and then create from there.

My art is very unique because the materials I use are a combination of the plasters I use on the walls for faux painting, I incorporate the fusion glass, rocks and stones into the art. So, it’s quite different from a painting, or someone who just does glass or someone who just does jewelry.”

A Transformative Moment for Peppy

“At the point my career was moving toward a new focus in art, I asked myself a question, “What will be my unique style and approach?” We went out and viewed art. Do you like this art? No. Do you like this art? No. Do you like this art? No.

…until we went to Arizona. And we went to this gallery. These gals were working on wood. They were aeronautical engineers—both of them—until they got out of that field and started creating art. They worked with wood. They would carve wood, it was beautiful! I can remember the day looking at it, and my brain went, “Shoom!” (expansive, explosive motion). It just flipped. I said, what they’re doing to wood, I can do with fused glass.

And that’s when I ended up doing what I’m doing: Incorporating glass… some of my art has fusion glass pieces, a lot of them have the faux plaster I do on a wall to make it look like stone or brick or whatever. That’s the plasters I use on my canvas which is wood. I have wood boxes. That’s why I call it boxed art, because it’s on the top of a box, but it’s all made of wood.

So that’s how it started.”
